1 year, 4 months, and 4 days ago on October 2nd, 2011 I was 50 pounds heavier. Thanks to everyone for their support and belief in me that I could do it! (And to my critics, thanks for encouraging me even more – telling me I can’t do something will make me prove you wrong) PS -I am eating 2-3x… Read more →
SO CLOSE!!! I missed the Deans List (3.7) by .025 GPA. Ended up with a 3.675 as you can see. 3 A’s and 1 B. I have some mixed emotions going through my head right now. I’m a bit disappointed. I thought the Microeconomics was a sure A. I put in the most effort out of all in that class… Read more →
This is my first foray into the kegged beer department…and it went off without a hitch! I’ve always just bottled the home brews before. I have to say, this was WAY easier than cleaning 60 bottles and removing all the labels. What a nightmare of a process that is compared to how easy this is. I wish I had known… Read more →
Well, I’m all done with my first semester back and this officially makes me a sophomore. Yay, only 2.5-3 years to go. I did quite well my first go round. I think I made all A’s on all 4 classes. Results won’t be back until later next week or so, but that’s what I am expecting. If not, my teachers are… Read more →

I was actually out riding my bike when the thought hit me to reflect over the last year and try and write down some of my thoughts. I feel… Read more →
So, Stefan and I got together today and pulled the primary fermentation into secondary. Pretty straightforward process. It was quite a bit easier than I thought it was going to be. Sanitize the secondary bucket and all associated items used to transfer, get the beer flowing, try not to suck up much trub (sludge from the yeast on the bottom)… Read more →
Quick update on the beer brewing process. So I pitched the yeast into the wort on Wednesday night. I was expecting some more immediate results, but all day on Thanksgiving (Thursday), I saw no results from the airlock. Friday I got my relief, as it started bubbling quite feverishly and has been going strong every day since then. I’ve never… Read more →
So I brewed another batch of beer today with my friends Stefan and Steve. It was a perfect day for it! This was my first foray into the all-grain technique (vs extract) so it took a bit longer than I expected but I also expect the results to be a bit better. It should hopefully be a great beer… Read more →
Just a real quick post before I head off to work here. I added the weight loss and bucket list pages. They are works in progress, but they should serve as place holders for now. Leave a comment and let me know what you want me to add in the content of those pages!
